Acey Deucey

The clear low collects from everybody. The clear high pays everybody. Every hole.

Every hole settles twice: the outright best net score — the ace — collects the stake from every other player, and the outright worst — the deuce — pays it to every other player. Ties void their half.

The rules

Both can happen on the same hole, and both can be you across two holes, which is the game's whole sense of humour. It scales up to six because everyone settles with everyone, and it keeps a big group honest hole by hole without teams.

How it settles

$1 stake, foursome. You ace the 5th: $3 in. You deuce the 6th: $3 out. Golf.

Rivalry scores Acey Deucey live — the rules stated on the first tee, the money running along the bottom of the card, and the settle done to the dollar when the last putt drops. The round goes into your group's permanent record, because a game this good deserves to be remembered past the car park.

Some scores take years to settle.

Rivalry is in closed beta with a handful of groups. Leave an email and we’ll tell you when there’s room.
