Side game · exactly 4
Scotch
Low ball, low total, birdies — up to three points a hole, doubled on a sweep.
A fixed-teams points game with a sweep bonus. Each hole offers points for the better low ball, the better combined total, and any birdie — take every point on offer and the hole doubles.
The rules
Two fixed teams, net scoring. The standard three categories a hole; some groups add proximity for a fourth (five- and six-point variants exist — agree yours on the tee). Points pay the stake, a man, settled at the end.
How it settles
$2 a point. Your side takes low ball and total on the 9th and Dave birdies it: three points, swept, doubled — six points, $12 a man, and the back nine has stakes.
Rivalry scores Scotch live — the rules stated on the first tee, the money running along the bottom of the card, and the settle done to the dollar when the last putt drops. The round goes into your group's permanent record, because a game this good deserves to be remembered past the car park.
Some scores take years to settle.
Rivalry is in closed beta with a handful of groups. Leave an email and we’ll tell you when there’s room.
