Stableford
Points instead of strokes — a blow-up hole costs one hole, not the round.
The scoring system built for real golfers on real Saturdays: points per hole against par, so a 9 on the 6th costs you the 6th and nothing more.
The rules
Net score per hole earns: eagle 4, birdie 3, par 2, bogey 1, double or worse nothing. Highest points wins. Because disaster is capped, everyone keeps playing, and the guy who tripled the 2nd is still dangerous on the 17th — which is the point.
The money
Groups settle it pairwise on the point gaps: finish six points clear of a man at $1 a point and he owes you $6. It scales to any number of players because everyone settles with everyone.
How it settles
Three players, $1 a point. You score 34, Dave 31, Chris 28: Dave pays you $3, Chris pays you $6 and Dave $3. Zero-sum, no pot to argue over.
Rivalry scores Stableford live — the rules stated on the first tee, the money running along the bottom of the card, and the settle done to the dollar when the last putt drops. The round goes into your group's permanent record, because a game this good deserves to be remembered past the car park.
Some scores take years to settle.
Rivalry is in closed beta with a handful of groups. Leave an email and we’ll tell you when there’s room.
