Widgets and the lock screen
Two different jobs, on two different days.
Before the round
Put the Rivalry widget on your home screen and it carries the next tee time: the day, the time, the course, who's confirmed and how many seats are still open. That last number is the one that gets a fourth.
With nothing booked it falls back to the group's closest rivalry — who leads whom, and by how much. A widget that goes blank between rounds is a widget people delete.
There's a lock-screen version too, for the same information in a line.
When a game vote is open on that tee time, the tile says so — "Vote on the game", "Nassau leads the vote", or "Game set · Nassau" once it's settled. The widgets and the Lock Screen card are pine with gold on them, the same surfaces the app uses for a tee time and a result.
During the round
Start scoring and a card appears on your lock screen: the hole you're on, a row of pips filling as the holes go down, and everybody's running money. On an iPhone with a Dynamic Island it's up there too — the hole, and who's up.
You don't have to unlock anything to see where you stand, which on a cold morning in a glove is most of the point.
Tap it and you land on the hole you're playing, not on the app's front door. Same for the widgets: the one showing a tee time opens the clubhouse, the one showing the ledger opens the ledger.
The card goes when the round is filed. A settled round has no business still showing a live score.
If your home screen is tinted
iOS can render every icon and widget in one colour of your choosing. Rivalry's widgets are built for it, so the hierarchy survives the change instead of flattening into a single smudge.
