Rabbit

Win a hole outright to hold it; hold it at the turn and the last to collect.

A game about holding on. Win a hole outright — no ties — and the rabbit is yours until somebody takes it from you the same way. Whoever holds it when a leg ends collects from everybody.

The rules

Two legs: the ninth and the eighteenth. Net scoring, and only clean wins move it. If every hole since the last capture was tied, the rabbit runs free at the leg's end and nobody collects — the rabbit doesn't pay out on a technicality.

How it settles

$5 legs. You take the rabbit on the 2nd with the day's only birdie and nobody wins a hole outright for the next seven. It's yours at the turn: $5 from each. The back nine, the rabbit runs free.

Rivalry scores Rabbit live — the rules stated on the first tee, the money running along the bottom of the card, and the settle done to the dollar when the last putt drops. The round goes into your group's permanent record, because a game this good deserves to be remembered past the car park.

Some scores take years to settle.

Rivalry is in closed beta with a handful of groups. Leave an email and we’ll tell you when there’s room.
